Michael Wilkes, Vice Chair

Michael began working for BC Project as a volunteer and he co-authored the Parliamentary report on the Chinese community and policing. After graduating from UCL, he devoted all his time to the BC Project and oversaw the Project between 2013 and 2015.

Under Michael’s leadership, the BC Project grew drastically developing a defined set of activities, including community research, activities with elderlies and voter education campaigns. In 2015, Michael was very pleased that BC Project assisted the first ever Member of Parliament of Chinese heritage to get elected and encouraged ten other ethnic Chinese candidates to stand up and represent the British-Chinese community.

Michael is currently undertaking a training course in Tsinghua University, Beijing. He will return to BC Project in autumn 2016.
